Citrix Engineer

Qualification: • Candidate should have strong Windows 2003 Server and XP/Vista Desktop skills.
• Must have at least five years experience supporting and deploying Citrix on Windows Terminal Server Platform.
• Must have B.S. or equivalent (i.e. job experience) in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Must have Citrix Certification (Citrix CCA and/or CCEA)
• Must have a strong understanding of business systems development.
• Must have strong team leadership skills and willing to share knowledge and cross train other members in the team and support arm.
• Must have excellent problem solving skills.
• Must have excellent technical writing skills and proficient in Visio.
• Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment.

Business Need:
The Citrix Engineer is required to be secondary contact for specific business units’ for design, implementation of new Citrix solutions, validate applications in Citrix environment and third level support for critical Citrix issues.


Description:
Citrix Engineer with at least 5 years of experience. Technical position will be primarily responsible for providing Citrix best practice solutions to business needs, supporting, and providing troubleshooting techniques to support teams. Develop a capacity planning model and provide reporting mechanism for all Citrix servers farm wide.

The candidate must possess the following specific skill set/qualifications and experience to be considered:
• Design, planning, and implementation experience in Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and associated Access Suite products and over all terminal server experience.
• Experience with provisioning and making applications Citrix aware and help during the migration for offshore/onshore programmer acceptance testing process.
• Knowledge of terminal server Citrix license model
• Candidate must have experience in application installation, configuration and publishing on a Citrix Server and setting up load balancing within Citrix farm
• Local and Network Printing options (All aspects of printing within a Citrix environment to include driver compatibility & mapping and understand functionality in Citrix XP version)
• Must have a working knowledge of VPN client connection and LAN to LAN and to be able to support new client relationships remotely
• Must have a working knowledge of creating scripts for login and application automation flow
• Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 Secure Access Manager
• Farm component placement and optimization
• Resource management and Snap shot report creation
• Installation management - Fundamental understanding of application automation process such as "packaging" software into different format including MSI format for deployments in a Citrix environment.
• Citrix Secure Gateway experience
• Experience with two-factor authentication products such as RSA SecureID
• Microsoft Active Directory and Windows 2003 Server
• Monitoring Citrix Servers/Farms
• Citrix Web Interface
• Citrix Password Manager experience a plus
• Citrix Access Gateway experience a plus
• Microsoft certifications a plus
• Candidate should exhibit working experience in change management flow and be able to develop roll back procedures to reduce down time
• Candidate should be able update Remedy trouble ticket system
• Excellent writing and documentation skills - Skilled at developing support documentations of work performed with step by step process setup and tweaks. In addition, be able to create activity reports on the fly to monitor Citrix environment and advice management of capacity.
• Excellent capacity planning skills and report generating from source SQL server
• Able to train Group members and other groups to support and troubleshoot Citrix environment
• Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and be able to work with developers at remote locations during application acceptance period
• General understanding of Active Directory and group policies and user profiles
• Must have a working knowledge of VPN client connection and LAN to LAN and to be able to support new client relationships remotely
• Must have excellent communications skills with the ability to interact with other technical members in the group.

15% Establishes Citrix project requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
15% Work with internal monitoring teams to make sure security alerts and infrastructure monitoring for all Citrix servers are optimized.
20% Establish capacity planning model and utilization reports of all Citrix servers.
15% Provides specifications, configurations, documentation and turnover to production support.
15% Work with the various CXO organizations to design and implement new services and products, providing input on architecture, system sizing, and fault tolerance.
10% Create intimate working relationship with the various CXO’s to foster a strong working relationship built on trust and respect.
10% Coordinate with CXO organization to ensure timely completion and prioritization of projects.
