I was hoping someone might have a matrix they are willing to share that highlights the decision points for use of virtual desktop or use of a published application within presentation server.
I know VDI has all the buzz but if you are just using Microsoft Office why go to the expense of using VDI when I can publish the applications and get 200 con-current users on a 64 bit presentation server.
Thanks
JL

Hi Jody,
One of the primary reasons that people are lookng at VDI (this is what I get anyway from the clients I speak with) is application compatability. In your traditional SBC environment there is only a subset of apps you can install on TS or Citrix and for it to function correctly (agian people I speak to have inhouse apps that can not be updated for whatever reason but it is a BAU application).
Also for a large organisation it helps the support costs as now they only have to deal with a single desktop SOE and only have to go through the application development process just once, and not twice so it is also compatible with TS.
If you just want office and you are looking at TCO then by far SBC is the best way to go.
